Overview
Underground Waifus is a hybrid trading card game (TCG) that merges Web3 elements with a “phygital” approach, combining digital NFT assets with optional physical collectibles. Developed by Maniac Panda Games, this cyberpunk-themed game places players in a post-apocalyptic universe dominated by faction-based battles. Each card is a unique NFT, allowing players to own their assets and fostering a player-driven economy. Underground Waifus has introduced over 400 unique cards, with future editions aimed at enhancing collectible appeal and in-game strategy.
Gameplay
The game’s structure centers on competitive PvP battles, where players compete for high ranks and rewards through the ELO-based ranking system. Players can enter tournaments held in “seasons” every 15 days, with rewards based on their ELO rank. Battle passes, available through in-game purchases, are required for tournament access, adding a strategic investment element.
Factions and Cards
Underground Waifus features nine distinct factions, each with unique attributes and lore, offering diverse strategic options. Factions such as the Vaessa Sufferers and Atom Hunters possess specific abilities that influence battle outcomes. The game employs a rarity-based card structure with six levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. This rarity system enhances card value on the in-game marketplace, where players can trade, rent, or upgrade their cards.
