In appreciation of the community’s support, AltLayer has planned an extensive airdrop of 300,000,000 $ALT tokens, constituting 3% of the total supply.
ALT Airdrop Overview – Season One
Snapshot time: January 17, 2024 12:00:11 AM UTC (Ethereum block number 19022890)
The airdrop targets several key groups, with the following allocation percentage:
- Celestia Stakers 9.92%: An airdrop is planned for TIA stakers, with details to be announced later.
- NFT Holders 35.47%: Owners of AltLayer OG Badge and Oh Ottie! Collections at the snapshot time are eligible. The circulating NFTs from these collections qualify for the airdrop.
- Altitude Campaign Participants 37.07%: Participants in the four phases of AltLayer Altitude Campaigns, subjected to anti-sybil analytics, are eligible.
- EigenLayer Restakers 13.05%: A dedicated pool of ALT tokens is reserved for those involved in EigenLayer’s restaking mechanism, with airdrop amounts based on “Restaked Points.”
- EigenLayer Ecosystem Partners 4.49%: The EigenLayer team and its partners will receive airdrops
Claim Process and Duration:
The airdrop claim site will be operational from January 25 to February 25, 2024. Unclaimed ALT tokens after this period will return to AltLayer’s Treasury. This initiative represents the first season of airdrops, with more incentives planned for future adopters of restaked rollups.
Celestia Stakers:
Due to technical nuances, the airdrop for TIA stakers will be available post-listing. The team is working with Celestia team to ensure the airdrop to $TIA community takes place as close to TGE as possible.
Purpose of ALT Token:
The ALT token serves multiple functions within the AltLayer ecosystem:
- Economic Bond: ALT is used with restaked assets to provide an economic stake, which can be slashed in case of malicious activities.
- Governance: ALT holders have voting rights on governance decisions.
- Protocol Incentivization: ALT rewards operators for their services within the AltLayer ecosystem.
- Protocol Fees: Participants pay for intra-network services using ALT tokens.
AltLayer is set to launch its ALT token on Binance on January 25, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the platform.
