Recently, as part of its efforts to professionalize, rebuild trust with the community, and improve transparency and community engagement, the Interchain Foundation announced the formation of the Technical Advisory Board (TAB).
An essential element of the Interchain Foundation, the TAB is composed of leaders from across the ecosystem. The TAB will work in collaboration with the Foundation Council (the governance body) and the BOM (the management body) to comprehensively guide funding and responsible innovation in the Interchain ecosystem.
The TAB is made up of seven community members who have repeatedly stepped up to formal and informal leadership roles at critical moments in the development of the Interchain.
Selected based on their valued insights and contributions to the ecosystem, the appointed experts will provide guidance on: technical strategy, market roadmap, grant priorities, technical evaluation criteria, and project funding recommendations. They each have deep and complementary knowledge of the technical systems that make up the Internet of Blockchains.

- Zarko Milosevic, Chief Technology Officer at Informal Systems
The TAB advises both the BoM and the Foundation Council. They are appointed and dismissed by the Foundation Council with no term limits, according to the TAB Charter, which was submitted for approval to Swiss authorities.
The ICF’s goal is to set up the TAB as a beacon of effective multi-stakeholder governance. Its first step will be to evaluate proposals for 2023. In September RFP’s were solicited from core development teams and due at the end of October. On November 11th the TAB met for the first time and were presented with 28 proposals submitted by 14 proposers. The TAB work now will be on evaluating these proposals so they can give a recommendation to the Foundation Council so grants can be awarded by the end of 2022.
The formation of the TAB symbolizes the core developers reintegrating formally after all these years to provide technical guidance and to help achieve our mission and collaborate more effectively on strategy and funding for core public goods. We are looking forward to working with them to improve the structure of public goods funding across the interchain.
